Maya Singh | someperfectworld on Tumblr (b.1981, India)

Maya Singh is from Chandigarh, India. Her work has recurring themes of chaos, stillness and sehnsucht, and she expresses through her photography what it means to be human today: “Given that we live in times that are increasingly cynical and aphotic, it’s important for me to articulate not only this darkness, but to also identify and illuminate the magic, wonder and profundity that help us recognize which way is up.” Maya is an aesthete, and her loyalty is to beauty and integrity. A lot of her art is the result of her constant attempts to make sense of the beautiful and strange things she sees and experiences.
